Notice how rain slants around street lights,
How shimmery wet roads look squeaky clean.
Pools and puddles reflect light from vehicles,
And plants look a happy dark green.

When it rains at night, open your doors,
Let the breeze in through the windows.
Stand still and breathe in petrichor,
Close your eyes, let the breeze cleanse your core.

Put your palms out, let raindrops caress your skin,
Step outside, soak it in, let it heal wounds that go deep.
Wait until entire pain oozes out of your pores,
And tears unite with raindrops until they stop on their own.

Let the rain wipe the slate of your memories clean,
So when tomorrow comes, you can afresh begin…
